    Handmade Paper Cut Sculpture
1 Sheet of White Japanese Washi Paper

Byaku was created for Jerwood Makers Open 2013 in London by Nahoko Kojima.

It is her biggest and most ambitious piece yet, depicting a suspended sculpture of a life-sized swimming Polar Bear, handmade using only one sheet of white Japanese Washi Paper.

This short promo film coincides with the National UK Tour of Byaku and in it, Nahoko talks about the process and challenges she faced.

You can follow her work at where you can see her previous collections, stay informed on future shows near you and also get involved with her workshops and visit her open studio events.

Produced and Directed by Solo Kojima, London, UK.
