This paper toy is the Defoko Hat, based on the Japanese singing synthesizer application Utau, the papercraft is created by Skullkid. The Defoko (also named Uta Utane) - Meaning Default Child/Default Girl. This is because of her presence in the standard-issued installer of UTAU, making her the default voicebank. Her name is interchangeable, she can be addressed both as Uta or Defoko. This paper model is her hat.
Uta is packed with UTAU as a default voice bank. She does not come from an organic voice source; that is, her voice is 100% machine synthesized.
Her voice bank is from "AquesTalk Female-1," which is distributed free by Aquest Com. Ameya has been granted special permission by the company to feature their software in UTAU.
Because of this, and adding the fact that she only has Japanese phonemes, Uta is not for beginners. Though some have tried to come up with quality output using her, this is no easy task, due to her excessive airiness, or lack of voice clarity. Users can attempt to overcome voice quality issues through tweaking of note flags in UTAU.
It's been annonced however a fanmade English voicebank is in production, also with special permission of course, most detail are unknown other then that it will have basic English phonetics.
She also appears in the MikuMikuDance. Uta Utane (Enamel) is a MMD character inspired by the Nendoroid figurine. Enamel-P created the original model structure and Suttoko converted the data for MMD platform.
