This zelda papercraft is the recruit's sword from spirit tracks, this paper model is designed by Sabidiet. The sword resembles the Hero's Sword and Oshus' Sword from the game's predecessors. This dangerous yet unremarkable weapon is obtained in the training room of Hyrule Castle, as Link requires a sword in order to traverse the hidden back way into the Tower of Spirits, which is full of enemies. The leader of Hyrule Castle's guards gives it to Link, whom he mistakes for one of his recruits due to his Recruit Uniform, after Link successfully completes a basic sword training exercise. It is eventually replaced by the Lokomo Sword.
While using the Recruit's Sword, Link must collect three Tears of Light in the Tower of Spirits to be able to strike a Phantom in the back. This will stun the creature and will allow Princess Zelda's spirit to control it while in that state. After Link obtains the Lokomo Sword, he no longer needs to use the Tears of Light -- the sword itself is infused with enough energy that allows Princess Zelda to control the Phantoms in the same way as she did when Link possessed the Recruit's Sword.
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks is the second Zelda game for the Nintendo DS, revealed by Satoru Iwata in Game Developer's Conference on March 25, 2009. It uses the same cel-shaded layout and game-play interface as Phantom Hourglass. A train is the main method of transportation, replacing the steamboat of Phantom Hourglass. According to Nintendo of America representative Kit Ellis, the game takes place about a century after the events of Phantom Hourglass.
Despite early speculation, the game is compatible on all installments of the Nintendo DS, and does not feature enhancements when played with the Nintendo DSi.
