Peach then went to Delfino Plaza, as it currently was not possible to reach the hotel. There, Shadow Mario grabbed her and ran away. Mario followed them and was able to release Peach from Shadow Mario with the help of FLUDD. The incident was reported by the local radio, the Delfino Emergency Broadcast System, and afterward Peach stayed on Delfino Plaza until Mario had collected ten Shine Sprites. Bowser Jr. claimed that Peach was his mother and that the evil Mario had kidnapped her.

When she did not answer, Bowser summoned a UFO, which cut the castle out the ground, and the airships lifted it into space. Mario had made it to the castle before it was lifted. Just as Mario began to reach for Peach, he was attacked by Kamek and sent flying with Peach still calling his name.

To make matters worse, he claims that he has harnessed the Power Stars that made him grow huge, and also says that he is going to build a huge empire in the center of the universe. And to add insult to injury, he also nabs Peach as well, taking her with him all the way to outer space.
