This gundam papercraft is a SD RMS-179 GM II Semi-Striker, the paper model is designed by shirokumatawagoto. The RMS-179 GM II Semi-Striker is a variant of the RMS-179/RGM-79R GM II. It first appeared in the OVA series Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn.
The RMS-179 GM II Semi-Striker is a custom RMS-179/RGM-79R GM II. The GM II Semi-Striker was created by reusing spare parts from existing machines, its model number is unchanged. However, by its appearance, it is known as the “Semi Striker.” It shares the same performance, power output, acceleration, and sensor range as its archetype.
The GM II Semi-Striker’s left and right shoulder armor have been refitted with the RGM-79FP GM Striker’s heavy shoulder armor. Its left arm is equipped with a shield similar to the FA-78-1 Gundam Full Armor Type. The GM II Semi-Striker is usually equipped with a pair of 60mm Vulcan Gun and a beam saber. It is also armed with the GM Striker’s long twin beam spear that was based on the RX-78-2 Gundam’s beam javelin.
During the assault of Torrington Base, a GM II Semi-Striker was deployed and seen battling against the MS-08TX/S Efreet Schneid in close quarters combat, however it was quickly dispatched by the Efreet Schneid.
Armaments:
- 60mm Vulcan Gun
A pair of 60mm Vulcan guns are mounted into the GM II’s head. These projectile weapons are designed for intercepting missiles and destroying lightly armored vehicles.
- Beam Saber
For close quarters combat the GM II is equipped with a single back mounted beam saber.
- Twin Beam Spear
A pole-arm weapon derived from the RX-78-2 Gundam’s beam javelin, that mounts a pair of beam sabers at its head. The long reach of the weapon gives the GM Semi-Striker a considerable advantage in melee combat.
