Its portico dates from the 13th Century and has survived the wartime destruction of the Second World War. The town hall is on the lower terrace of the old city on the square just outside the cathedral precincts. The building is entered on the memorial list of Minden. In December 2010 a ceremony was held at City Hall instead of the presumed 750-year ceremony.
