This Paper Relief Sculpture is Thunder God, based on the "Wind God and Thunder God", a Japanese national treasure artwork created by Tawaraya Sōtatsu in the early seventeenth century, the paper sculpture was created by N.Ogasawara via Canon Papercraft.
Wind God and Thunder God (Thunder God) portrays the thunder god standing on a storm cloud, powerfully striking a drum as he looks down on the world below. The work features a gold leaf background, and was created using the technique known as "tarashikomi" with silver leaf and India ink. The clouds give the feeling of limitless space. It is a unique work which leaves viewers with a very powerful impression.
