This Paper Relief Sculpture is an American Shorthair, designed by N.Ogasawara via Canon Papercraft. The American Shorthair is a breed of domestic cat believed to be descended from European cats brought to North America by early settlers to protect valuable cargo from mice and rats, not a great variety of mixed breeds with short hair. In 1620, when the British Puritans boarded the Mayflower to head for America, they took several "working cats" with them to protect their food and clothes from the rats on the ship. These cats later became known as the American Shorthair. They have a gentle and friendly temperament, and can also become tremendously curious and independent. They are strong cats that can cope with any kind of environment. This paper relief features an adorable American Shorthair kitten playing in a basket.
