This ornamental plant paper craft is a Notocactus Uebelmannianus Cactus, a globular cactus from Brazil with a shiny deep green skin, the papercraft designed by Chokipeta via Canon Papercraft. There is also an Opuntia Cactus (Prickly Pear) Paper Model on the site. One of the few cacti with beautiful rich royal purple flowers. Flowers to 3" in diameter. Regular water in summer. Keep rather dry in winter, rot easily if the substrate is wet and cold, tends to lose its roots in winter.
Recently, the genus Notocactus has undergone name changes, and as a result, all Notocactus are now included in the genus Parodia. Notocactus Uebelmannianus is also known as Parodia Werneri. It is hardy to at least 25°F (-4°C).
It is believed that Notocactus and Parodias have sufficiently similar characteristics that they should be placed in one all-encompassing genus.
